Admissions
|
Aberdeen Park Nursery is open to children aged from 6 months to 5 years. Priority in admission is given to residents of the Borough of Islington. Some places are available to non-Islington residents; these are at full cost - not Income Band based - as they are not subsidised by the council. Before applying, please contact us by email or phone to arrange a visit.
A deposit of £100 is required for Marketed places only. This is refundable if the correct notice is given when the child leaves the nursery. No deposit is paid for any other type of place. On starting nursery, there is a settling-in period. The length of this period is flexible but its minimum duration is two weeks for children under 2 years old, and one week for children aged 2 and older. At the start of settling-in, the child does abbreviated hours with the parent/carer present or nearby part of the time. As the child settles in, a gradual transition is made to doing the full complement of hours without the parent/carer present. Parents/carers are given a one-week settling in period at no charge. |
Fees
For children aged 9 months +:
- the rate for Islington residents is based on household income, with eleven income bands determined by Islington Council.
- there is a single, unsubsidized rate for non-Islington residents.
For children under 9 months:
- a single rate applies regardless of household income and regardless of residency.
Children aged 3 ,4, 2 and under might be eligible for the Free Early Learning entitlement. This is a government entitlement which allows Aberdeen Park Nursery to offer each eligible child 15 or 30 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year. Other entitlements may be available depending on your circumstances: see this page on the Islington Council website for more information.
- Fee schedule from 1st September 2025 can be found here.
